Here are four actionable steps that new agents can take to succeed.

How can you succeed as a new real estate agent? There are plenty of things new agents should be doing, but choosing a broker that caters to new agents, creating a website, and setting up your database are some of the basics. To help you get through all of this and more, here are four tips for new agents:

1. Set a routine. Have a map of your day so all of the important things get done. Give each task the appropriate amount of time, but don’t be hard on yourself when you mess something up. Give yourself time to work out the kinks and get used to having a schedule.

2. Master your market. Know the details of the area you’re working in. Know the local demographics, where the schools are, what local regulations are in place, and which restaurants and entertainment venues are worth promoting. This expertise will set you apart.

“This transition can be hard, so don’t do it alone.”

3. Take care of yourself. Be prepared to work hard, but don’t run yourself dry. Any new position can be overwhelming to learn, so set boundaries and make time for yourself. If your tank is empty, you won’t be able to do your job well and be there for others.

4. Get a coach or mentor. This transition can be hard, so don’t do it alone. A coach or mentor will help you stay on top of moneymaking activities and keep you on the right track.
